We have been up to our usual things like going for dinner with friends, thanks Jus and Nigel for arranging the trip to The Mariners in Rock. A really, fabulous experience as a pub or restaurant and will definitely be returning to this Paul Ainsworth establishment. We have also, finally, got round to trying Yamas in Looe. It was great to catch up with visiting friends from Swindon. The co-owner, Ben Palmer, has recently been on tv. He is one of the contestants on Great British Menu, representing the South West and has been selected to through to the next stages of the competition. We have been reliably informed that, in the near future, a Tapas restaurant will be opening in Looe, just along from The Fisherman’s Arms. We can’t wait as we love Tapas. Come and stay with us at our No.1 rated Guest House, Schooner Point, when you fancy trying some of the wonderful restaurants in the town.

The second series of Beyond Paradise is soon to be run on tv, look out for the small fishing boat cruising along by The Banjo Pier during the credits. Our good friend Nigel, as mentioned earlier, is the master of the vessel. Mrs.B&B and I did see some of the filming for this series, so look out for Shipton Abbott as it is remarkably similar to Looe, in places!

We were fortunate enough to visit Caerhays Castle a couple of weeks ago to see their magnificent Magnolia display, we are so glad we didn’t delay as the following days were a total wash out. This really is worth a visit at this time of year as there are Camelia’s and Rhododendrons in bloom as well.

We are pleased to announce that Schooner Point Guest House will be open for New Year celebrations this time around. We are offering 3 night minimum, stays and remember, book direct to get the best price. Bring your fancy dress outfits, the more spectacular the better and let’s make it a night to remember in Looe.

The trivia question was about the members of The Doors. Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger and Jim Densmore completing the line up. So, the next question is, who is The Thin White Duke better known as? T shirt of the day is The Jam’s Dig The New Breed album. A collection of live recordings to showcase what the band were about in the flesh.
