Wishing you all a happy New Year from Mrs. B&B and myself.

We do hope you managed to see the last fancy dress outfits that we wore for new year. Mr. & Mrs. Chough. Not so much a Looe connection but definitely a Cornish one. We thought our costumes were fun but many we met said we were a bit scary!!!

Mrs. B&B has been in the kitchen again this time preparing a new marmalade for the season ahead. We now have Seville Orange marmalade, very nice it is too, if I may say. In addition to this the first batch of homemade baked beans are now complete. Good work Mrs. B&B.

I have nearly completed the planned maintenance for Schooner Point Guest House so took the opportunity to have a couple of days out. Firstly we planned a trip to see Halliggye Fagou, ancient settlement site but could not get there as the tracks were impassable. British Heritage could do with making the signage easier to follow though. So from there we went onto Cadgwith, one of my favourite coastal villages. It’s like a land that time forgot as Santa was still stuck up a rope on the side of a house! We then went onto The Lizard and still did not manage to get an “Anne’s” pasty as the place was closed, never mind. We briefly stopped in at Church Cove before heading home. We had a really nice day out visiting places we had not been for some considerable time. More recently we went off to Polridmouth Cove, much closer to home this time. This is true Daphne Du Maurier territory as her house Menabilly is close by and is the scene for her novel, Rebecca. The tattered remains of a ship wreck can be seen at low tide. We walked eastwards towards St.Catherines Castle at Readymoney Cove, on the edge of Fowey. This completes another section of The South West Coast Path for us.  During the walk we noticed a large industrial wheel of some sort in the water near the bottom of the cliffs, really not sure what it was or why it was there, so will have to do some investigating.

T Shirt of the day is another new one from Christmas and is a multi coloured Rolling Stones tongue, fabulous and iconic.

We are almost ready for the new season and cannot wait to welcome you into our home in Looe, South East Cornwall. Come and sample our hospitality for yourself, not forgetting to book direct for best price.
