Since the last blog Mrs. B&B has been busy in the kitchen. We can now boast home made jam and marmalade for our guests. The jam is mixed fruit and the marmalade is three citrus, lemon, lime and orange. The latest addition to her offerings is homemade baked beans. We were not happy with the leading brand containing too much juice and too few beans and the alternative does not seem to be available in catering packs.  Along with the occasional muffins all her homemade produce is going down a storm with our guests, good work Mrs. B&B.

We were delighted to welcome a young man into our home just a few days back. Paul Minter is the founder of “Heads Up”, the mental health charity for the armed forces. Paul is running the whole coastline of Great Britain to raise funds and awareness for the plight of our military veterans. Being an Afghanistan veteran himself he is well positioned to know the plight of these men. In all he stayed with us for three nights during one of his very few rest periods and we were happy to sponsor some of his stay with us. Check out his Instagram posts that are made daily  @paulaminter_uk_run .

The Looe Raft Race was held last week and what a great fun day this was. The weather was kind to us all and there was a big turn out of rafts and visitors alike. There was even a boat full of The Looe Pirates causing a stir on the water. The day was in favour of The Looe RNLI. Cornwall has a rich history of celebrations and Looe is no exception. We are now into The Looe Carnival Week with a host of events taking place, Childrens Sand Modelling competition, Ukelele Extravaganza, The Polperro Fisherman’s Choir, Fancy Dress Three Legged Race, always a scream and culminating in The Grand Carnival Procession on Saturday 30th. July. As usual the pubs will be hosting live music.

Looking forward to September, Friday 16th. – Sunday 18th., when one of our biggest events is held. Love Live is a festival of music with Live Bands performing on two stages and of course in many of the pubs and even on the street. The line up is still being confirmed but the likes of Reef, Smokey’s King Shufflers, a particular favourite of mine, Soul II Soul and The Lightning Seeds have all been pencilled in. Tickets are selling fast so get yours soon. Finally on a musical note todays T shirt is of an all time Eagles classic  -  “on a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair…..” you know what it is and are going to be singing it now!
