Well, Mrs. B & B and I have been out and about recently to continue our South West Coast Path odyssey. You have to take the opportunity when the B&B allows. We have done a short circular walk from Lansallos towards Polperro and up the valley and back to Lansallos. During this short trek we came upon a black Adder, no word of a lie, apparently it is the opposite of an albino. This is the first Adder I have ever seen. We have also walked around the headland out past Padstow to Stepper Point, past Pepper Hole and The Butter Hole, didn’t get too close as long steep drops to the water. From there we drove back to Padstow for lunch in Paul Ainsworth’s Caffe Rojano, very good food and wonderful service, you get what you pay for! The last sojourn was out to Golitha Falls, not coast path but beautiful in it’s own right and we finally got to try an Inkie’s Smoke House burger, fabulous and will go back for sure. From Inkies we went to see Doniert’s Stone, Trevethy Quoit and St.Cleer Holy Well, take the time to look them up if you don’t know what they are. All ancient sites situated close to Schooner Point Guest House, Looe and worth investigating during your next Cornish short break.
At this point I feel the need to give a mention to the Looe Men’s Gig Pilot rowers who retained their World Championship at The Isles of Scilly earlier this month. Well done guys, putting the town on the map again. Staying with the nautical theme there are new boat trips available Looe harbour side. Looe Sea Safari offer a number of trips around Looe Bay and even out to The Eddystone Lighthouse, really fancy this one myself but need to find my sea legs first.
Todays t shirt is another from Credence Clearwater Revival showing the lyrics from Down On The Corner, what a great sound from a great band.
