Our last guests of the year have now departed and we are closed until the start of February. We have already started preparing the house for Christmas and Mrs.B&B has done a wonderful job with the mantle and window decorations in the dining room and also the stair garland, which is a new addition this year. I have put up the lights outside on the deck and installed the icicle projector, so all done now. Mrs. B&B is planning an alternative meal for the big day, not the usual turkey roast but a 6 course tasting menu. Already sounding awesome. For the first time in 6 years we will be celebrating on our own. We are visiting friends in Caerphilly and Cardiff and in The New Year we are venturing up to Swindon for a party and to meet up with friends. Really looking forward to catching up with people.
We attended the send off for Ruth, The local fiddle player, and what a talent she had. The Fishermans Arms did her proud with a lively send off from the pub she played at so often. Tom and the guys from Black Friday were awesome as usual and the other bands were a welcome bonus. It was like old times as “The Fish” was absolutely packed, God bless you Ruth.
Before you know it we will be focusing on getting ready for next season and all that that entails. Mrs.B&B has given me a pasty making tutorial and the results were pretty good, for a first go, if I may say so myself. Perhaps I will be ready, come the new year, to be the main pasty maker in the household, will need to master the crimping though. Watch this space.
The answer to the last trivia question is, off course, Mick Jagger, providing backing vocals on Carly Simons You’re So Vain hit. This time around, Who is Douglas Trendle better known as? A multi image, grey Jimi Hendrix t shirt is likely to be the last featured shirt, unless of course Santa brings some at Christmas.
