Spring has arrived in Looe, daffodils abound and the sun is out. Mrs.B&B has been out in the garden and front planter has been refreshed with yellow and blue flowers to show our solidarity with the brave people of Ukraine. May Putin be put back in his box, sealed preferably, before too much longer.
Schooner Point Guest House is already taking guests and has been doing so since February. There are still vacancies for spring and summer, so if you are planning a holiday in Cornwall why not spend some time in Looe. We have a safe sandy beach, The Banjo Pier, some of the best fish and chips, amazing seafood and Cornish Orchards Cider. Remember to book direct for best price. Although early in the season we have already had returning guests, which is always fun and very rewarding. One of these couples, Mags and Pete, enjoyed an afternoon tea in our dining room. If you are interested in one of these or a Cornish cream tea or even a packed lunch just request one when booking on the website.
I have been lucky enough to have been well fed over the last couple of weeks. Mrs. B&B has made liver pate, short rib with red wine sauce, a full roast pork dinner, hake with white wine and cream sauce and so many more. Tonights meal is Greek beef Stifado, yum! I am a lucky boy and will be behaving myself even more as the making of pasties has been mentioned. In the same vein we are now offering our own citrus marmalade and mixed berry jam. Our usual supplier has retired so Paula has stepped up to the plate and in my opinion has done a very good job.
Before signing off, a quick mention for the t shirt of the day. The Jam’s A Town Called Malice. Brings back great memories of teenage years. Mrs. B&B reckons I have never grown up as I am always in shorts but perhaps I am becoming Cornish!
